Final Project

The final project is a short video demo of your localhost employees database set up via PostgreSQL and PgAdmin4.

Subject Matter Content

The subject matter for this project will be based on what we learned about PgAdmin4, database design, and SQL DML/DDL syntax.

If you need a refresher on any of those content, please refer to the recorded lectures on the following lecture days:

In the lectures above, we modified the MySQL loading scripts to load the employees database in this GitHub repo. For this project, you should do the same.

Instructions

Please create a short video demo no longer than 2 minutes where you voice over a walkthrough of your localhost Postgres employees database set-up via PgAdmin4.

Upload this video file via Gradescope no later than December 18th, 2021 at 11:59 PM ET.

Grading Rubric

This final project will be graded with a maximum of 100 points and will be worth 25% of your final grade.

Here are the points breakdown:

10 pts: The video needs to be in a mp4 format, of duration < 2 minutes.
10 pts: While you need not show your face in the recording (just the view of your desktop is sufficient), your recorded voice need to be clear and audible.
10 pts: You have installed and are using PgAdmin4 and PostgreSQL.
10 pts: Your localhost employees database contains all 6 tables.
20 pts: Show the column names, data types, and any primary/foreign keys for each table.
20 pts: Perform basic sanity checks against each table.
20 pts: Demonstrate the relationship between tables in this database via an ERD data model diagram.

Please be careful not to accidentally record any personally identifiable information (PII) during your demo.
