The midterm project, worth 25% of your total grade, is a timed, take-home Hackerrank lab containing 7-9 individual SQL problems, similar to the in-class lab(s) and homework 6.
Content
The subject matter will be based on the SQL knowledge we learned spanning from lecture 2 (hello world, SELECT * FROM table;) up to and including lecture 14 (complex JOINs).
Structure
This is open book. You may use whatever online or offline resources available to you, just like in a real life SQL job interview.
However, please submit your own work.
If you copy pasta any snippets of SQL, make sure to cite your references. A simple in-line comment with a hyperlink to your source counts as citing your reference.
Start/Stop Timing and Logistics
The invite to start the midterm will be sent out to your Hunter email on November 1st, 2021. The invite will expire on November 10th, 2021 at 11:59 PM ET.
If you prefer to use a different CUNY email to receive the invite, other than your Hunter email, please let me know ASAP.
This is a timed project assignment. Once you start the Hackerrank lab, you will have 72 hours to complete it!
So please plan accordingly.
Friendly reminder to the procrastinators:
If you procrastinate and start last minute, you might not get your full 72 hours! If November 10th 11:59 PM ET arrives BEFORE your full 72 hours is up, you may lose access to the questions without getting your full 72 hours to do the midterm project assignment.
