Setting Up

• A few days before the workshop starts, you will receive an email with set up instructions. Please follow the instructions to set up PgAdmin on your laptop and access the employees database needed for the workshop.
• Bring your laptop to the workshop. Come early if you need help setting up.

• Hello world in SQL

• SELECT, LIMIT, and aliasing with AS

• SQL functions: mathematical and string functions

• SQL data types

– Break #1 + Problem Set #1

• SQL functions: datetime, data type conversion, and aggregation functions

• SQL conditionals

• Filtering with WHERE conditions

– Break # 2 + Problem Set #2

• De-duplicate with DISTINCT

• Aggregation with GROUP BY

– Break # 3 + Problem Set #3

• Filtering with HAVING conditions

• Sorting with ORDER BY

– Problem Set #4 + Wrapping Up
